CLIMATE
Kanha enjoys average annual rainfall of
approximately 1,600 mm. There are three seasons namely
cool and dry (October to February), warm and hot (March
–June), and rains (July-September). |

In cool season the temperature ranges
from a low of -2 degree C to a high of 32 degree C
during the day. In November, the Kansgrasses flowering
along the stream beds and in the marshy areas present
the awesome sight. In the month of January may trees
shed their leaves. By the end of February, spring
arrives in Kanha. In may when the day temperature rises
to highs of 40 to 45 degree C the grasses begin to
wither. Sal tree flush, however, with their new
surf-green leaves. April is the most colourful month of
with many tree species in flower. The rainfall in
monsoon rapidly converts the forest from yellow and
brown to green. New grasses sprout and grows quickly
reaching a height of more than 2 feets in July –August.
